The field of biometrics has opened a new vista in improving the governance in all private and governmental work environments. Bio-Id can be used for tax, registration, credit cards and many such Id-based transactions. Biometrics is a classic case of deploying technology for setting the human force free of supervision and allowing the truth to prevail. Biometric system of identity management checks the bio-id signs like finger prints, iris and palm-pattern of every individual with pre-stored database and certifies the identity.

TASS Bio-Id system

A typical process of creating the system involves 3 stages.

a. Enrolment – Creation of identity data against the enrolled personalities is the first phase.

b. Storage – The individual data is then transferred to a smart card in locked status.

c. Verification – Identity is then verified against stored data every time any identification is to be certified.

The storage of the data on smart cards is digitally locked and nobody can overwrite it without authenticated digitised signatures. It makes the system completely fool proof.

It is capable of integrating with multiple biometric devices as well as search engine algorithms for iris, finger, face, and biographic data.

2. Scalability –
